Friends and family near and far,
We pulled out of the dojo parking lot this morning at 8:15 to begin the 12 hour drive south. I was fortunate to hitch a ride (expenses paid) with a van returning to Osaka for more volunteers. Hi!
Today, October 14th, the volunteers here spent all day cleaning the Be One mission house for the Huddleston family moving in this week. We put a bed together, cleaned, organized and made floor space in the guest house for another family that will be staying here this weekend. Afterwards, (around 5PM) there was a large gathering of nearly 20 people who came from near and far for a prayer meeting. We shared, prayed and worshiped together. During the summer, the great quantities of donations were distributed rather quickly. But as these different organizations (ie. CRASH, Healing Hands and Be One) headed into fall there were fewer volunteers, and still there are few. Since I’ve been here, I have unexpectedly been put into leadership positions; I was often asked to drive weekend-volunteer-groups to different work sites since I am now familiar with the area and the tasks needed done.
